In the coming months, there will be a change in the management of Java Dock Café.  While Chad and Allison Austin will retain ownership of Java Dock Café, We are excited to announce the promotion of one of our team members. The day-to-day operations will be managed by Sara McManus. Sara has been with the company for the past two years, where she started as a barista and was quickly promoted to her role as assistant manager, Sara has been a tremendous asset to building the culture here, her history with the business began more than fifteen years ago.  A Port Washington native, Sara spent her high school years studying upstairs and worked with Java Dock under former owners while in college, where she completed her undergrad studying social work at UWM, and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Concordia University. Sara is a familiar face, not only in the café, but in the Port Washington community, where she has worked for several local restaurants, as well as the parks and rec. department.  We are fully confident that Sara will maintain the fantastic community that has developed around Java Dock and continue providing exceptional service, quality coffee and delicious treats.

A word from the owners:
It has been a great pleasure for our family to share our love of coffee and conversation with the community of Port Washington for the past three and a half years. It is with great excitement, and a bit of sadness we announce our family is relocating to Asheville, North Carolina. While we look forward to all of our new adventures in North Carolina, we are saddened that we are stepping away from our daily role in the café and the community of Port Washington. Our family has been in Port Washington for the past 14 years; there are so many things and people we will miss here. We have truly enjoyed being part of this community and the daily routine for such a large portion of the Port Washington community. For all of our friends at Java Dock, we will miss you; however, the decision is made easier knowing Sara will be taking great care of you, and we are confident that there will not be any change to the quality and service you have come to expect at Java Dock.  We have many family members and friends here that we will be back to visit; watch for updates to our Facebook page to see when Chad will be back in town for a visit to the café! Thank you all for your continued support.
